The man who was stabbed during a Thursday night altercation has been identified as a 29-year-old Troy man.

According to Troy Police Chief Anthony Everage, Quinlian LaRon Brown died soon after reportedly being stabbed during an altercation at Southland Mobile Home Park, just off Highway 87 in Troy.

Sgt. Benny Scarbrough, public information officer for the police department, said three subjects allegedly entered a home in the mobile home park around 7 p.m.

Officers at the scene were told a fight ensued between an occupant of the residence and two of the three individuals attempting to break into the home.

Brown, who entered the mobile home was reportedly stabbed during that fight, Scarbrough said.

"This is what our early investigation of this case has revealed," he said. "We plan to continue our investigation to determine the specifics of the incident."

Police responded to the call at the mobile home park around 7:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Brown near a residence on Sandra Circle, a block from the home where he was allegedly stabbed. He was reportedly dead when officers arrived.

Officers investigated for approximately one hour before Haynes Ambulance Service transported Brown’s body from the scene.

According to residents of the mobile home park, Brown was stabbed with a kitchen knife.

The suspects left the home and Brown collapsed and died within one block.

Scarbrough said no arrests have been made and detectives will continue to investigate the crime.

"We plan to do a thorough andcomplete examination of the evidence in this case before we conclude our investigation," Scarbrough said.

Scarbrough said he was not ready to comment on whether or not an arrest in the incident may be forthcoming.

Everage urges anyone with information on the incident to call the police department at 566-0500 or the Secret Witness Line at 566-5555.
