Willie "Bill" Johns, 85, of Troy died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000 at Edge Regional Medical Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000 at Turner Funeral Home Chapel in Luverne with the Revs. William Leverette and Hugh Sikes Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Darien Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.
Mr. Johns was the proud father of 15 children.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie; daughter, mary Grace and son, Louie.
Survivors include 13 children and thier spouses: Jack and Judy Johns, Tab and Cornelia Johns, Pete and Corinne Johns, Lynn and Johnny Tillery, Par and James Harrelson, all of Troy, Margaret and James Reeves of Honoraville, Frances and DOuglas Messick of Hartford, Ann and Tommy Cowles of Lakeland, Fla., Roy and Geraldine Johns of Pace, Fla., Danny Johns of Goshen, Debra and William Arthur of Wetumpka, Connie and Jeff Keithley of Perry, Ga., and Scott and Kathy Johns of Grady; one daughter-in-law, Faye Johns of Montgomery; 31 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Edna Harris
Edna Harris of Detroit, Mich., formerly of Pike County, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000 at Clio Baptist Church in Clio with the Rev. Lawrence Guilford officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery with Bell’s Liptrot/Dawson Funeral Home directing.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service.
Gary Wayne Hulsey
Gary Wayne Hulsey, 38, of Troy died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000 in Seattle, Wash.
Services were at 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Dr. Ed Walter and the Rev. Danny Doss officiating. Burial was at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Survivors include parents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Crapps of Troy; sister, Kathy Lewis of Greer, S.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Mel Peifer of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Kyltsa Thompson of Woodville; nephew, Danny Lewis and niece, Laura Lewis of Greer, S.C.; niece, Tressa Peifer of Seattle, Wash.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Edge Hospital Foundation and Troy Council on the Arts and Humanities.
