James Lafayette Courson Jr., 84, of Goshen died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000 in Montgomery.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000 at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy. Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Pallbearers will be Jim Courson IV, Mike Courson, Kevin Courson, David Courson, Eric Bovis and Danny Courson.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 7 at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

A native of Pike County, Mr. Courson lived and farmed in Henderson with his wife of 60 years, Irma Ray Courson. He was active in the Henderson United Methodist Church and Henderson Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Jim and Sherry Courson of Atlanta, Ga., Bill and Linda Courson of Montgomery, Rick and Carolyn Courson of Montgomery; grandchildren: Jim IV and Becky Courson of Atlanta, Mike and Gina Courson of Charleston, S.C., Kevin and Amy Courson, David and Stacey Courson and Eric Bovis, all of Montgomery; six great-grandchildren; Ouida Debter of Montgomery; Sarah Courson of Troy; Leland and Betty Courson of Montgomery; June and Bobby Phillips of Montgomery; Vernell Courson of Henderson; Jessie Waites of Montgomery; Luther and Gwendolyn Ray; Naomi Ray and Frances Ray, all of Troy.

Pinkie Flowers, 99, of Brundidge died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000. Funeral services and survivors will be announced by Bell’s Liptrot/Dawson Funeral Home.
