Caitlin Rose Smith, infant daughter of Jimmy and Betty Smith, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000 at Edge Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services were held at 3:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9, 2000 at Hopewell Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Smith officiating. Skeen Funeral Home of Troy is handling arrangements.
Survivors include her mother and father, Jimmy and Betty Smith of Goshen; grandparents, Earl and Betty Beardslee of Goshen and Jimmy and Carol Smith of Troy; uncles and aunts: Daniel and Kim Beardslee of Goshen, Mikeal and Barbara Smith of Brundidge, Eddie Hotalong of Middle Town, N.Y., Clifford Beardslee of Boston Spa, N.Y.; half sister, Ceiara Smith of Troy; cousins, David and Brandi Smith of Brundidge.
Doris Ann Merritt Mahone
Doris Ann Merritt Mahone, 49, of Troy died October 7, 2000 at Edge Regional Medical Center.
Her funeral will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000 at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Ansley. Harrison Funeral Home of Troy is handling arrangements.
Visitation will be held from noon to 6 p.m. today at Harrison Funeral Home. The body will lie in state from noon until 1 p.m. Thursday prior to service.
Ms. Mahone was born March 24, 1951 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lamon Merritt Sr. in Pike County.
Survivors include a son, Nathaniel Mahone Jr. of Queens, N.Y.; companion Robert Wingard of Goshen; five grandchildren, Jerica, Jamet, Justin, Janisé and Alexis Mahone, all of Queens N.Y.; three brothers, Lamon (Geenie) Merritt Jr., James "Bubba" (Dorothy) Merritt both of Troy, and Willie (Pokey) Merritt of Goshen; four sisters, Shirley Phillips of Lorain OH; Catherine(Clarence) Sams of Troy; Velma Jean (Willie) Cargill of Montgomery; and Debra (Ronald) Johnson of Goshen; three aunts, Florence Lovejoy, Annie Kate Lovejoy, and Ruth Merritt; two great aunts, Cherrie Ann Mahone and Johnnie Pearl Lewis of Montgomery; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers are Booker Merritt, Willie Cargill, James Lovejoy, Rodney Merritt, Timothy Hill, and Lawrence Hill .
