Lady Trojans fall to UCF

TROY

– The Troy State soccer team (2-8, 0-3 TAAC) fell 3-0 to Trans America Athletic Conference rival Central Florida (6-3, 1-1 TAAC) at the Trojan Soccer Field on Sunday.

Central Florida’s Claire Kohake (31:30) and Nicole Cieslak (39:45) both scored goals in the first 45 minutes of play to give the Golden Knights a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Jackie Kutudis scored the third goal, assisted by Kohake, for Central Florida in the 49th minute of the match.

Offensive leaders for the Lady Trojans were forwards Bridget Boykin, a sophomore from Bay Minnette, Ala., and Casey Wiegley, a freshman from Panama City, Fla. Both players contributed two shots apiece for the day. Junior goalkeeper Jessica Murphy, a native of Daphne, Ala., had six saves in 90 minutes for Troy State.

Troy State continues conference play in Buies Creek, N.C., on Thursday against TAAC foe Campbell at 7 p.m.
